Carol Ann Burcicki Obituary – The Detroit Free Press

Carol Ann Burcicki, age 83, of St. Clair passed away peacefully September 22, 2022. She was born March 22, 1939 in Champaign, Illinois to the late Emerson and Freida Sperling. Carol married Stephan Burcicki on September 16, 1961 in Detroit and he preceded her in death on November 13, 2002. Carol was a Registered Nurse at St. John’s and retired from there after 34 years in 2001. She enjoyed gardening and watching the boats and freighters go by on the river, she loved spending time with her family most importantly her grandchildren, Carol was known by most as a selfless person who always took care of people especially her late husband Stephan, beloved granddaughter Brooke, and mother in-law ” baby”. Carol is survived by her children, David Burcicki, Beth Poupart, Douglas (Michelle) Burcicki, Brenda (Steve) Mezzo; grandchildren, Nicholas, Stephen, Nathan, Natalie, Madelaine, Colin, Jack, Clair, Justin, Trevor, and Katelyn; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Sharon Shink, along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brooke Mezzo; sister, Sandy Haley. A memorial service will be Saturday October 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and a memorial visitation will take place Thursday September 29, 2022 and Friday September 30, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. along with visitation from 10:00 am Saturday until time of service.
