Karla J. DeVlieger Block, 79, of Rockford, went home to her Savior on July 15, 2022. Born August 31, 1942, in Venice, CA, the daughter of Edmund and Mary Kravish. Karla married her sweetheart, Richard J. DeVlieger. They raised their family together and owned a tool and the business before she lost her husband of 27yrs.

Karla volunteered at LOVE, INC., where she met her loving husband Bruce E. Block. Married for 21yrs, they enjoyed traveling and wintering in Naples, FL. with many dear friends.

Karla attended Maywood Evangelical Free Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crafting, but her family was her greatest joy and she loved spending time with her children and all her grandchildren.

Survivors include, children Konnie (Paul) Peterson, Deborah (Craig) Kosch, and Richard (Joey Suzanne) DeVlieger; stepchildren Kathy (Doug) Scharfenberg, Dan (DeAnn) Block, Martin (Mary Jo) Block, and Laura (Joe) Kulesza; fourteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Diana (Richard) Kantowski and Kathleen Chopp.

Preceded in death by husbands Richard and Bruce, parents, and brother Larry Kravish.

Services will be 11 am. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Maywood Evangelical Free Church, 3621 Samuelson Rd, Rockford, IL 61109, with the Dr. Gary E. Kniseley officiating. Visitation from 9:30 am. until time of service. Burial at Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers donations to the Rockford Rescue Mission in her name.
