Rockford Pantry Coalition Receives Check for Nearly $ 8,000 | Top stories

The money was raised from this year’s CROP Hunger Walk in Rockford, which raised a total of $ 31,000.

ROCKFORD (WREX) – The Rockford area’s CROP Hunger Walk presented the Rockford Pantry Coalition with a check for nearly $ 8,000 on Monday.

The money was raised from this year’s CROP Hunger Walk in Rockford, which raised a total of $ 31,000.

The walk helps raise funds to fight hunger in Rockford and around the world.

“The numbers fluctuate, but the demand never fluctuates,” says Leslie Varisco, who is a member of the Greater Rockford Pantry Coalition.

The Rockford CROP Hunger Walk takes place every third Sunday in October. Rockford has raised over $ 200,000 for local famine relief since 1986.

A quarter of the money will return to Rockford and be distributed to the Food Pantry Coalition, which consists of 16 food pantries in the area, including the Rock River Food Pantry.
