Veterans’ dinner and dance slated

Tickets for the Champaign County Arts Council’s Veterans Day Dinner Dance, which will take place in the VFW Hall on Saturday, November 13th, are available now.

Tickets for the Champaign County Arts Council’s Veterans Day Dinner Dance, which will take place on Saturday, November 13th at the VFW Hall in Urbana, are available now.

The annual Dinner Dance is designed to honor veterans and celebrate those who have entertained them.

The event is presented with support from the Champaign County Memorial Foundation.

Tickets are $ 25 each and can be purchased from the Arts Council office, 119 Miami St. or the CCAC website. Tickets can also be purchased over the phone with a credit card.

The VFW is located at 220 East Court St., Urbana. Doors open at 5:30 pm; Dinner is served at 6 p.m. Music and dance from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The eclectic 10-piece Bob Gray Orchestra will play a variety of music, including 1940s-style Big Band Swing. The band has existed since 1973 and their high profile musicians also perform in other music organizations, including the Dayton Philharmonic and the Springfield Symphony.

Veterans are welcome in uniform.

The diamond sponsor of this event is the Champaign County Memorial Foundation.

The gold sponsor is Bundy Baking Solutions.

Silver sponsors are Rosewood Machine & Tool, Skelley Lumber and KTH Parts Industries.

Bronze sponsors include Willman Furniture, Edward Jones Investments, Farmers and Merchants State Bank, and Walter & Lewis Funeral Home.

This program is also sponsored by an Ohio Arts Council grant, which uses state tax dollars to fund programs like this one to promote economic growth, excellent education, and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
