Wright Tab’s third American athlete of the week

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State’s Yazmine Wright received her third American Athletic Conference (AAC) Cross Country Athlete of the Week award of the season, following her first place finish at the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday October 15 in Peoria, Illinois.

Wright set another personal best of 20:35.50, overtaking Xavier’s Rachel Butler by 4.7 seconds to remain unbeaten in completed races this season. With the individual win, she became the first shocker woman to ever win the Bradley Pink Classic and finished seventh on the meet’s all-time list.

This is Wright’s third Athlete of the Week honors in four encounters as The Shockers look forward to the AAC Championships in Lakeland, Florida on Friday, October 29th.
