Barbara J. Norris, 85, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Born June 2, 1937, in Cedar Lake, IN, the daughter of Carl and Edith (Montgomery) Johnson. Barbara married Terry Norris on June 2, 1956. She worked in customer service at Sears for many years. Barbara was very talented and creative. Among her creations were beautifully decorate thierr d cakes, floral arrangements, Swedish rugs, and crocheted hats and Christening dresses for her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and taking care of her many beloved dogs over the years. She also loved cooking and baking for family and friends. Her crescent rolls were her specialty. Try as we might, we’ll never quite be able to recreate those.
Survived by husband, Terry; children, Jeffrey (Lida Lorbinenko) Norris, Deborah (Mitch) Zehr, Terry (Katie Collopy-Norris) Norris, Jr., Jon Norris, and Heather (Christopher) Lawrence; grandchildren, Natalie, Rene, Lauren, Taylor, Madeleine, Connor, Jasmine, Keira & Alexis; and five great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Robert and William Johnson. The family would like to thank Lincolnshire Place and Mercy Hospice for their loving care.
