In women’s hockey on Friday, the Minot State Beavers took 6th place (10-3, 5-1) and won a 2-0 win over Adrian College, which ranks 2nd. The MSU retaliated for the 3-1 defeat against Adrian on Thursday and have now won five of the last six games.
Junior striker Megan Norris scored the first goal of the competition less than four minutes into the game. She was assisted in the piece by Ensley Fendelet and Anna German.
Defensively, the second goalkeeper Haylie Biever scored 41 saves in the MSU shutout win. Meanwhile, senior striker Haley Wickham added an insurance goal with 6:02 in the second period. She was assisted on the piece by Riley Ball.
Next up is the plan for the Beavers to stay on Saturday and Sunday for a few games at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
In men’s ice hockey, Minot State took their eleventh blowout-style win of the season on Friday, beating Arizona State’s number 15 11-1 at the ACHA Chicago Classic in Champaign, Illinois. The Beavers plan to stay in Champaign for the three-day tournament that ends Sunday.
