ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Five 14-year-old juvenile males are in custody after a carjacking on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Four of the teens face criminal trespassing charges, while another faces possession of a stolen vehicle. All five are charged with resisting arrest.
Police say they found the teens and a reported stolen vehicle at the Mobile Gas Station on Broadway.
Six people were inside at the time police tried to approach the car. One occupant walked into the gas station, noticed police and the remaining five fled the scene in the vehicle.
They didn’t get far from the gas station when police caught up to them. One escaped police and the other five were arrested.
