Rockford Christian thwarted Mercer County’s bid for an upset at the Rock Falls Shootout 68-62 Saturday. The Golden Eagles trailed by as many as 13 points in the second quarter. Mercer County was able to cut the deficit to one point in the fourth quarter, but never tied the game or took the lead. Mercer County has lost four of six and is now 11-7. Rockford Christian improves to 17-0 with the win.
