University of Illinois public safety investigate possible bomb threat on campus
University public safety sent out an alert to students at 6 am Friday to avoid Davenport Hall as they look into an “unconfirmed bomb threat.”
URBANA, Ill. – An “unconfirmed” bomb threat was reported at Davenport Hall Friday morning at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus.
A tweet sent out by the university’s campus emergency account, Illini-Alert, at 6:12 am urged people to “get as far away as possible.”
Police are currently investigating at the scene, according to Illini-Alert.
Davenport Hall is located at 607 S. Mathews Ave., on the main quad of the campus in Urbana.
The university’s spring 2023 semester does not begin until Jan. 17.
