PEORIA (25 News Now) – Check out some of the fun, art-related events happening across Central Illinois this weekend.

Miller Park Story Walk

Join Bloomington Public Library and the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department for StoryWalk®. Read When The Snow is Deeper Than My Boots are Tall by Jean Reidy while enjoying a walk outdoors.

When: Through January 23, from 9 am – 5 pm

Where: Miller Park Pavilion in Bloomington

Punch and Judy: Puppets in Peoria

Enjoy the classic puppet show, Punch and Judy, at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. The show has been redeveloped with a family-friendly atmosphere, and it will take place on the stage in the “Art of Opera” exhibition.

When: January 21 from 11 – 11:45 am

Where: Peoria Riverfront Museum

Harold Boyd & Rhea Edge: Lost Lore

This art exhibit focuses on the human story. It features fluid ink drawings and figures from Harold Boyd, as well as dramatic images of motion and flight depicting nature out of balance in paintings from Rhea Edge. The exhibit can be found in the Preston Jackson Gallery. There is a special reception on January 21 where visitors can meet the exhibiting artists and enjoy live music.

When: Through February 18, from 11 am – 5 pm

Reception: January 21 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm

Where: Contemporary Art Center of Peoria, 305 SW Water Street

‘Vinyl Night’

If you’re looking for a low-key evening with some tasty drinks, check out ‘Vinyl Night.’ This event is hosted by the Missing Zither Cocktail Bar in collaboration with local entrepreneur and vinyl reseller, Hudson Vinyl. Hudson will be spinning “global grooves” to accompany a night in the lounge for you and your friends.

When: January 21 from 6:30 pm – Midnight

“Cadillac Crew”

Director Paula Graves brings “Cadillac Crew” to the Corn Stock Theatre. The show tells the stories of forgotten leaders who trailblazed desegregation and women’s rights.

When: January 21, 27-28 at 7:30 pm

January 22 & 29 at 2:30 pm

Where: Corn Stock Theater, 1606 N. Park Road in Peoria

Cost: $14 adults | $10 students

STOMP

STOMP is an explosive and unique show for audiences of all ages. The award-winning percussion sensation uses everything but regular percussion instruments – like matchboxes and garbage cans – to put on the show.

Performer Sean Pernham says, “It’s a musical. It’s a dance experience. It’s a comedy experience. It’s really all the things that you could want in a theater show at once.”

When: January 22 at 7 pm

Where: Peoria Civic Center Theatre
