Institute for Applied Research
Is the air in your home healthy? The University of Illinois Indoor Climate Research and Training Group is recruiting single-family homes built after 2012 for two new studies of indoor air quality, one on radon and the other on general pollutants. The houses should be within ~ 1 hour drive of Urbana-Champaign. Participants help the ICRT expand their knowledge of building science and learn more about their own homes. Homes that qualify for both studies can participate in both. Ask? Contact Kiel at [email protected] Follow the Institute for Applied Research on Twitter today.
ELIAS study for young children aged 12-18 months
The ELIAS study aims to recruit young children between the ages of 12 and 18 months to examine how foods are related to cognitive abilities at an early age. Over a period of 12 months and 6 visits, the toddler’s brain function is measured while he sees a computer screen and hears noises, his motor and cognitive skills are observed, and his nutritional status is collected with a few drops of blood measured from a heel or finger prick. Parents will receive $ 420 (through a gift card) for participating. Additional compensation is provided for families traveling from more than 30 miles away.
