October 20, 2021
In March 2020, the city worked directly with downtown businesses to reduce the impact on business from the nationwide indoor restaurant closings and other COVID-related restrictions. This included closing some side streets and downtown parking lots to allow businesses to offer their customers expanded al fresco dining options. The city continues to strive to support our businesses and help them survive as we slowly emerge from the restrictions put in place during the pandemic and as business levels slowly return to normal. On October 15, 2021, al fresco dining on Market Street was closed and the street and parking area on Chester Street near Esquire Lounge was reopened to traffic. The city thanks the public for their patience and understanding as we have all worked together to implement temporary solutions to ensure that our valued local businesses can stay open and survive.
