Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five events happening in the Bloomington-Normal area:
Rader Family Farms Holiday Stop n Shop
Rader Family Farms will open its Pumpkin Blossom Barn, a combination retail space and café, to the public from 10 am to 5 pm Friday and Saturday.
Attendees will have the opportunity to shop from a selection of Christmas gifts, and bakery items and coffee will be for sale. Admission to the event is free.
Illinois Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Pops in the Heartland
The Illinois Symphony Orchestra will be joined by several local musical groups for a holiday concert at 7:30 pm Saturday.
The performance will take place at Illinois State University’s Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets range from $22 to $66, but discounts are available for students with ID and children aged 11 and under.
A Gilded Age Christmas with Santa
The David Davis Mansion in Bloomington will be hosting a Gilded Age Christmas with Santa celebration from 5 to 7 pm Friday and Saturday.
Visitors will be able to explore each room of the mansion decorated for Christmas in period style. There will be Christmas music, as well as a photo opportunity with Santa dressed in Victorian costume.
The event is free for children and $10 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the event, cash or check only.
Holiday Farmers’ Market
A variety of small businesses and artists from the Bloomington-Normal area will gather from 9 am to noon Saturday at the Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington for a holiday farmers’ market.
The event is free to attend. Gifts and food items will be for sale. A complete list of vendors can be found at online.
Ugly Holiday Sweater Brewery Tour
Normal’s DESTIHL Brewery will be hosting a series of ugly holiday sweater brewery tours at 3, 5 and 7 pm on Saturday. Tickets are $10, and all attendees must bring a valid ID for this 21+ event.
The 60-minute tours will be followed by a tasting of seasonal beers. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best holiday sweater or festive outfit for a chance to win a prize.
