Iron Coyote Challenge Park is bringing “Fortnite” to life with a Nerf war based on the popular video game. Nerf darts and blasters will be provided, but players may bring their own masks.
Free play on the ninja courses will last from 7 to 8 pm Friday, followed by the battle from 8 to 10 pm
Tickets are $35 per player and players must be 8 years or older. Lockers are available to rent for $2.
Illinois State University Gymnastics vs Lindenwood University
Illinois State University’s gymnastics team will take the floor for its first home meet of the season against Lindenwood University.
The meet will begin at 7 pm Friday at CEFCU Arena. The team will also be available after the awards ceremony for post-meet autographs.
Unable to make it to the first home meet? Do not worry because the second home meet of the season follows quickly. The Redbirds will compete against Western Michigan University at 2 pm Sunday at CEFCU Arena.
The first 400 fans will receive a free pompom at this meet. The team will also be available after the awards ceremony for post-meet autographs.
Admission to both meets is free.
Community Players Theater is transporting its audience out of state and into a dive bar in Pennsylvania with its performance of “Sweat.”
The play follows a meeting between a parole officer and two ex-convicts, in addition to three women who were childhood friends and now work together in a factory. But when layoffs and picket lines begin to chip away at the group’s trust, the friends find themselves pitted against each other in a heart-wrenching fight to stay afloat.
The show will have three performances this weekend, at 7:30 pm Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 pm Sunday at Community Players Theatre. Tickets can be bought online and range from $9 to $17.
Fans of emo and pop-punk music can check out Loudernow, a pop-punk and emo tribute band, performing at the Castle Theater at 7 pm Saturday. The band covers songs from a variety of bands including “Fall Out Boy,” “My Chemical Romance,” “Taking Back Sunday” and more.
Tickets can be bought online for $12 or at the door for $15.
