October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and some local residents went to support on Friday.
A crowd came to the Greencastle buildings in Loves Park to show their support for breast cancer survivors and those still battling the disease.
Many residents of the buildings fought and won against breast cancer, and it meant so much more to them.
The Greencastle Social Services Coordinator says that after everything residents have been through, making sure they are fine is a top priority.
“Our seniors go through a lot because of several factors at play, so we just want to give them this morning to celebrate their battle with breast cancer,” said Joy Drysdale.
Community supporters helped run this event.
Heritage Woods, Transitions Hospice, Heartland Hospice, The Alzheimer’s Association, Lifescape, Riverbluff Nursing Home and many more were involved in the celebration.
