SIUE track and field releases 2023 outdoor schedule

SIUE track and field head coach Marcus Evans announced his program’s outdoor schedule Tuesday.

The Cougars will compete in seven regular season meets throughout the spring before hosting the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in May.

“We set out with our outdoor schedule to put us in some of the most competitive situations in the Midwest and help us get ready to host the OVC Championships, which we are excited to do,” Evans said. “Our alumni and supporters will add to the atmosphere and give us a hometown advantage in May when we are peaking and trying to compete at our highest level. This schedule gives our program a great opportunity to chase PR’s, add to our top five lists, and even break more school records.”

SIUE officially begins its outdoor schedule on the road at the EIU Big Blue Classic (Mar. 24-25) before a trip to Cape Girardeau, Missouri. to compete in the Joey Haines Invitational (Mar. 31-Apr. 1).

The Cougars will then head to Champaign, Illinois for the Illinois Fighting Illini Invitational (Apr. 8). SIUE will host the Cougar Classic (Apr. 15) at Ralph Korte Stadium the following weekend.

SIUE wraps its outdoor season with a return to Champaign for the Gary Weineke Memorial (Apr. 21-22) before the Memphis Invitational (Apr. 28-29).

SIUE’s Ralph Korte Stadium will serve as the host site for the OVC Track and Field Championships (May 11-13). It marks the second time SIUE has hosted the OVC championship (2014).
