SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Terry L. Burke, 74, of Springfield, MO, died Wednesday October 13, 2021. He was born March 14, 1947 in Elmhurst, IL to James and Gwen (Somes) Burke. His wife Joyce (Newlin) Burke survived; Daughters: Kim Heminger from Branson, MO, Theresa Mabbett from Tampa, FL, Trina Free (Derrick) from Cape Coral, FL, and Melissa Biehl (Kevin) from Olathe, KS; Brother Ronald Burke; Sister Carol Norris both from Branson, MO; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents and his sister Barbara Altenburger.

Terry grew up in the Chicago area and worked as a painter for his father. He was most proud of his service in the Air Force, where he worked with Fire and Rescue for flight emergencies. Terry was passionate about serving his community. During his stay in Chicago, he served in many fire departments and worked as a paramedic. During his retirement, he volunteered with the Colfax Fire Department near Bloomington, Illinois. Terry was an accomplished woodworker who loved making toys and gifts for others. Later there is a celebration of life.
