“We are excited to offer these booster vaccinations to qualified patients for the best protection against COVID-19,” said Robert Healy, MD, chief quality officer. “We have had success delivering the currently approved Pfizer booster and continue to follow CDC guidelines as we work to limit the spread of infections in our communities.”

The Moderna Booster is available to patients 6 months after completing the primary series:
– From 65 years
– From 18 years of age living in long-term care facilities
– From 18 years of age who work or live in a high risk environment
– From 18 years of age with previous illnesses

Johnson & Johnson booster vaccination is available at least 2 months after completion of the single-dose vaccination for people aged 18 and over without restriction.

“As we move into the colder months and gatherings move into the house, it is incredibly important to make sure that you are maximizing your protection from COVID-19,” said Dr. Healy. “As the cold and flu season approaches, I encourage everyone to take whatever steps are necessary to keep yourself and your loved ones healthy and to limit the spread of the virus.”

The CDC has also recommended that any of the available COVID-19 vaccines can be used as “mix-and-match” doses in eligible individuals after completing the primary series with another available COVID-19 vaccine.

Carle works with local health officials across the region to ensure that anyone who qualifies for a booster has access. If possible, recipients of the booster should bring their COVID-19 vaccination cards with them to the appointments.
