David L. Wright Obituary – Rockford Register Star

David L. Wright, 86, of Rockford, died peacefully on August 28, 2022 with his daughters by his side. Born October 11, 1935 in Sullivan, IN, son of George O Wright and Nellie(Deckard) Wright. He married Lulla Belle Grindle April 25, 1959. As a young adult Dave was proud to serve his country in the US Air Force. After serving his country in the Airforce, Dave pursued his career in engineering and manufacturing and eventually retired from Accudyn Corporation. In retirement Dave pursued his love of wood working and carpentry, something he always enjoyed and excelled at doing. Together, Lou and Dave enjoyed the gun club, fishing, and RV camping trips with the Cardinal Capers and making many friends along the way.

Predeceased by Lulla Belle in 2015, he is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Dave) Gucciardo, Shelly (Joe) Henkhaus, grand children Sara (Bill) Sprague, Chris Henkhaus, Rachel (Joe) Dell’Anno, Annie Henkhaus. Great grandchildren, Steven and James Dell’Anno, his sister Pat Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation and memorial will be held November 4, 2022 starting at 12:00PM at the VFW, located at 2018 Windsor Rd., Loves Park. David will be memorialized with military honors at the VFW and will be interred at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for Veterans, to be together in eternity with his beloved wife Lou.
