Melanie Beth Harrison, ‘Mel’ or ‘Nawnee’, died on September 24, 2021 at 4:18 a.m. at the age of 49. Melanie was born on November 30, 1971 in Urbana, Illinois to Rosa Marie Williams and James Edward. born Harrison. In 1976 she moved with her family to Great Falls, Montana, where she stayed for the rest of her life and started her own family.
Melanie graduated from Great Falls High School in 1990. She studied nursing at Montana State University and graduated from college in early 2000. Melanie was a wonderful, loving and supportive mother of 4 children. She also had 5 grandchildren, Emmett, Margaret, Scarlett, Kai and Brooklyn.
For countless years Melanie worked as a nurse in the foot and ankle clinic, which she absolutely loved. Melanie went through a lot of hardship and was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre in 2005. Despite being tetraplegic, she fought hard against all odds and after so many years of therapy she had learned to walk again. Against all odds, she switched from a wheelchair to a rollator and a walking stick. Only when her neurological disorder relapsed again did she lose her ability to walk again.
Melanie was one of the most stubborn people you could ever meet, but she was also the most selfless, sincere, and generous woman. Melanie loved everything purple, everything from Wonder Woman, elephants and all kinds of bargains.
