CANNON TOWNSHIP, Michigan (WOOD) – Michigan State Police say the driver of a pickup truck is in the hospital after crashing into a school bus near Rockford.

The crash occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Friday on M-44 / Belding Road heading east on Blakely Drive in Cannon Township, southeast of Rockford.
Soldiers say the pickup truck driver suffered a medical emergency before hitting the Rockford Public Schools bus. According to MSP, none of the 17 students on board the bus were injured.
The driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital, but his condition is unclear.

The M-44 / Belding Road on Blakely Drive is closed for half an hour, but has been open again since then.
