Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five events happening in the Bloomington-Normal area.

‘Middletown’ by Will Eno

Illinois State University’s Wonsook Kim College of Fine Art and the School of Theater and Dance has performed several performances of “Middletown” this weekend.

Performance times are 7:30 pm Friday and Saturday and 2 pm Sunday at the Westhoff Theatre.

“Middletown” is directed by Derek Munson. The play is about a friendship that develops between a new and old resident of a small town. Tickets to the performances can be purchased online.

Downtown Bloomington Farmers’ Market

The Downtown Bloomington Farmers’ Market will be from 7:30 am to noon Saturday at the Downtown Square.

The farmers’ market is produce-only and features a variety of products like fresh fruits and vegetables, cheese, eggs, meat and flowers.

Sugar Creek Arts Festival

The McLean County Arts Center is holding the Sugar Creek Arts Festival this weekend. It is one of the oldest community art events in the Midwest. The festival will feature 130 exhibitors displaying their fine arts and crafts.

The Sugar Creek Arts Festival will be from 9 am to 4 pm Saturday and Sunday in Uptown Normal.

Zoovies at Miller Park Zoo

Miller Park Zoo is hosting a showing of the 1996 horror movie “Scream.”

The movie will start at 7 pm Saturday outside the Sullivan Rohrscheib Educational Theater located near the carousel. The zoo will be reopened at 6:30 pm for the Zoovie.

This event is for participants 18 years or older as “Scream” is rated R. Participants are encouraged to bring their own blankets or lawn chairs. The zoo’s concession stand will be open for this event and will only be accepting cash.

Tickets for this event can be purchased over the phone by calling (309) 434-2250 or at the Miller Park Zootique.

Smells Like Nirvana

Smells Like Nirvana is performing live 7 pm to 11 pm Saturday at The Castle Theater in Bloomington. Special guest Dead Original will also be performing.

Doors for this event open at 7 pm and the show starts at 8 pm Tickets for Smells Like Nirvana can be purchased online.
