ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – On Thursday evening, Rockford Police Department SCOPE officers found a stolen vehicle near Charles and Seventh Streets that was reportedly used in an armed robbery earlier in the day.
Police said it was around 11:00 p.m. when the vehicle came to a halt near Furman Street and Irving Avenue.
Three suspects then escaped on foot, and a Rockford Police K9 was able to track down one of the suspects who was hiding in a garage on Arthur Avenue.
The suspect, a 17-year-old male, was detained and taken to juvenile detention.
Police said the teenage suspect was charged with armed robbery, possession of a stolen car and resisting arrest.
