1440 WROK Is Your Home For Live Rockford High School Football

We are honored to be brining live high school football coverage to the Stateline airwaves. Each weekend Joe Dredge, Dave Perrone, and Todd Heidemann will broadcast the game of the week live from the pressbox with updates of area scores as they happen.

In addition to live football and updates, we will be checking in with band members from each school as part of our partnership with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra. We thank them for their support.

Check back here throughout the weekend for updated scores and a season’s worth of scores from the NIC-10 and Big Northern Conferences.

Week 3 of Friday Night Lights takes us to Belvidere North where the Thundering Herd will be hosting the Boylan Titans in a match-up of two unbeaten teams. Both teams are 2-0 but haven’t seen much competition in the NIC-10 early in the season. That changes Friday night when one team will finish the evening with a loss.

Pregame will start at 6:45 with kickoff scheduled for shortly after 7. A review of Belvidere North’s concessions will probably occur sometime in the first half.

The only other remaining unbeaten team in the conference is Hononegah, who improved to 2-0 after a thrilling 38-28 victory over Harlem last week on Friday Night Lights.

We’ll have a clearer picture of the NIC-10 conference after this weekend, check back for updates.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
