Employee injured after armed robbery in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON (Heart of Illinois ABC) – An employee of a Bloomington business was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after being battered during an armed robbery Wednesday.

Bloomington Police responded at around 2:38 pm to a business in the 2000 block of Ireland Grove Road for a holdup alarm.

During the investigation, officers located evidence that indicated shots were fired inside the business.

Police believe there are two suspects involved. Police say they appear to be Black or Hispanic men in their 20s. Both were wearing masks.

One was wearing a yellow traffic-style vest. The other was wearing a blue vest with white lines.

Both left the scene in a black four-door car with silver rims and chrome trim around the windows.
