Julius Peyton Obituary (1972 – 2022) – Champaign, IL

Julius Peyton Jr. 49, of Peoria, Illinois departed this life on Tuesday August 9, 2022.
Julius was born in Hollandale, Mississippi son of Julius and Dollie Peyton Sr., on August 27,1972.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Stacy Peyton, three sons: Julius Peyton III, Qourtlynd Peyton, J’Veon Peyton, five daughters: Alexis Peyton, Juliet Peyton, Destinie Peyton, Kelsie Pelphrey, Marcie Pelphrey, parents: Julius and Dollie Peyton Sr. one sister: Bailey Fussner, five brothers: Kenneth E. Peyton, Erick L. Peyton, Brian A. Peyton, Dewayne Johnson, Terry Bradley, one grandson Mission Peyton as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews , cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Rev. Jack Johnson and Annie Bell Netters, and paternal Earnest Payton and Carrie Bell Baker.
After graduating from Peoria Central High School in 1991, Julius continued his education with an end to a Bachler’s degree. He also pursued his welding licenses and was employed at Caterpillar company for many years, becoming quite skilled.
When Julius was not working, he had a passion for coaching, he even coached for Whittier Primary School, he enjoyed all sports, spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed writing, he wrote and published a book about goal setting and putting your dreams on a vision board to make them a reality. Juluis started his own record label called Volcanic Records where he wrote songs and produced records, he even had his own album that sold over five hundred records.
Julius had genuinely believed in “old soul” in community, service to that community, and connecting to others through time well spent. Whoever he encountered he always left them with some form of knowledge. He believed the world could be better if everyone simply worked towards the common good and stood together. As an active member of his community, Julius fought for the youth of the underserved and overlooked in his community. He started a mentor program called Sound of the Town that continues to live on.
Julius was a loving and dedicated father. He was a force of nature, determined to provide for family and give them the life felt they deserved family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. His knowledge and guidance were the foundation of his family.
He will be deeply missed!
