Join Chambanamoms.com as we toast the New Year with a hot cocoa. MLK Advocacy for Justice Celebration – His dream, ideals worth fighting for, January 16

The annual nationwide celebration commemorates the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr by bringing together parishioners from Champaign County to share the mission, teachings, and legacy of Dr. Celebrate King. This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Derek Barber King, Sr., son of Reverend Dr. Alfred Daniel Williams King, Sr., the only brother of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. event at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.

Open school swimming, January 17th

The school is closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so head to the Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center for water fun.

CCFPD snowflake search begins, January 20th

Hop off and explore our local winter wonderland in search of snowflakes! CCFPD has hidden creative snowflakes and fun winter facts in Champaign County’s Forest Reserves. Bundle them up and find them! The search runs from January 20th to February 20th. 28. Find out more here.

Illinois women basketball against Nebraska, January 23

The Alici compete against an emerging team from Nebraska in a matinee at the State Farm Center. Experience family-friendly tire action up close!

For teenagers only! Super Smash Brothers tournament, January 28th

The Urbana Park District sponsors this action-packed teen video game at Brookens Gym. Registration is required. More information is available here.

Champaign County Dining Week begins, January 28th

The 6th Annual Champaign County Area Restaurant Week is back in person in 2022 so you can meet friends and family for some extraordinary meal in the greater Champaign County area. Get ready to experience a showcase of local restaurants and food trucks serving Filipino, Indian, Cambodian, Thai, Laotian, Mexican, Caribbean, Italian, Zambian, vegetarian, vegan dishes, soul food, farm-to-table and American standards -Fair serve.
